February 1 - March 31 -  Senior Scholarship application period 
March 31- Deadline for  Senior's Scholarship Applications to be submitted
May 8 - Scholarships awarded to Seniors at Awards Night, 6:30p.m. at the High School Gymnasium 
May 12 - BGM Commencement Ceremonies, 2:00p.m. at the High School Gymnasium
August 1 - Deadline for Seniors to accept their scholarships online
July - 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year applicants will receive information regarding the application process
August 1 - August 31 -  Scholarship application period for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year applicants
August 31- Deadline for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year applicants to submit their applications
September 30 -  Deadline for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year applicants to accept their scholarships online
 
 

     Community Events     

BGM High School students - the following events are great chances for you to volunteer and earn points toward your scholarship application!  Don't forget to log into your student profile and record these events as you continue through your High School years.

Annual CSF of B-G-M Newsletter Mailing  

Poweshiek Mobile Food Pantry First Wednesday of every month at the Malcom Auditorium. Unload truck at 3:15 p.m. and begin distributing food at 4:30 p.m. Anywhere from 75 to 100 families come for food. Volunteers can help unload the truck, set food on tables and help people carry food to their cars. They can also stand behind the tables and tell each person how much of each item they can take. Malcom Food Pantry Every Thursday at the Malcom United Methodist Church from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Volunteers can carry groceries to cars for people or fill the shelves as they are emptied. Contact Dawn Hamilton (641-990-4300) for more information.

Malcom-Sheridan Youth & After School Program Every Tuesday, September through May, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Volunteers prepare meals for kids and do activies, missions, and crafts. Help take the kids to the Homeless Shelter in Des Moines. Also, take trips to Des Moines to the Kiwanias Miracle Leaugue to spend the day playing baseball with special needs students. You Be the Chemist Challenge March and April-  Volunteers can help hand out prizes, help at the registration table, or anything else that might be needed. Contact Dawn Hamilton (641-990-4300) for more information.
